I agreed however when the time came we were running late to my family gathering so I said we can just exchange presents that following night when we planned on staying at my apartment. (So, right there I blew his chance and idea of proposing to me alone at my apartment before going to see the family). For the next day at home, my family was acting different and almost giving away the fact that Dan was going to propose because they knew it was coming. Looking back now, I don't know how I didn't catch on! My dad even pointed at my hand (promise ring) and actually said "is that the same ring"!
The next day, the 27th, Dan and I had to leave my house and stay at my apartment because I worked the following day. That night Dan got out his laptop and was like "hey, I made this video of pictures of us. Wanna watch it?" Nothing phased me because Dan and his family are always making picture videos. So I hop up on my bed and sit by Dan to watch this video. It was a fantastic slide show with all the pictures of when we first met until present and it was even to "our song"! (Which has it's own story behind it because I love the song and Dan would always forget the name of it, not being a country fan and caring for the beat) So that right there to have the song was a shocker! Finally the last slide as the music faded was this picture we took the summer before in my driveway of our shadows and us connecting a heart at the top. When that picture came up, slowly photo-shopped above our shadow appeared "WILL YOU MARRY ME" in a shadow font on the rocks. Completely shocked and extremely excited I said "Yes".
